Soil erosion:- soil formation and soil erosion are two natural and opposing processes. 

Erosion is three steps process :

detachment followed by transport and deposition. The energy for erosion is derived from falling rain and the subsequent movement of runoff water or The wind banks by water causes large masses of soil to fall into the streams and be carried away. very wet soil masses on steep slopes are likely to slide slowly downhill (solifluction).
